You will gain the ability to “Be a Teacher”!. Most programs do not train you for the masses, but we do! You learn to teach all types of clients, tactical, verbal and visual cueing, modifications for injuries, posture deviations, class planning for flow, prop usage, how to study for test out, and even some advanced contemporary moves. What is required for a Mat Pilates Certificate?
All Modules to be completed.
Pilates Anatomy (prerequisite) , Mat Module 1 & 2
15 hrs Taking Pilates Classes
15 Taking Class hours - 5 at selected studio (during the program)
**Subject to review based on contracted studio
30 Student Teaching Hours
30 Hours of practice teaching classes 5 with your peers, 5 with new clients required, these can be done at the studio during off-session times for free.

Testing with an 80% Pass Rate
Written 100-question online & in-person test, Practical & Spot test.
**Fee applies to retest if pass rate not met.
15 Observation Hours
15 Hours watching classes 5 at the selected studio and up to 10 can be on Pilates Anytime.

5 Assistant “CoTeaching” Hours
5 Hours of co-teaching with the studio owner or your mentors to a group class.

The program is not accredited, in fact currently we are not aware of ANY teacher training program currently is accredited.
The only way you can obtain an accredited certification is by taking the NPCP test for an NCPT Certification after all comprehensive training is complete. You can find more info here: https://nationalpilatescertificationprogram.org/NPCP.

We cannot guarantee you will be hired as a Pilates Instructor, this is a job and you have to apply, and many of our students have become instructors! In order to obtain a job as a teacher you will need to apply at the studio, audition, and tell them about your training and experience. Larger chains (Club Pilates, Equinox, BASI etc) may still require you to take their certification test or additional classes. We will mentor you in this area!

You do not need a NCPT accreditation to teach Pilates in fact only a small population of teachers have it, this is a choice to the teacher. IF you choose you want that accreditation we will get you on this path.
If you want to take your NCPT and have an accredited certification you will need to complete all modules- Reformer, Mat, Chair and Cadillac. We do offer these programs as well throughout the year and can help you get to your dream credential if that is your plan.

Yes, you will need to record all your hours and notes in the system. This will be mandatory for your test out. It also is beneficial to you as you will receive feedback and be able to ask questions about the things you observed for additional support that is not offered in any other program. Take advantage off it, we have teachers already getting hired that have not tested out yet at studios all over Orange County, CA!
You have the ability to upload handwritten notes instead if you prefer writing! But trust us the system is EASY and for your BENEFIT!

Yes, we have many studios in the area that will allow you to use their studio for a small fee, when needed we put you in contact with those owners to help you acquire the hours you need.

No, each class you teach with the studio owner or mentor counts as an hour, even if you only taught two - three exercises. These are meant to get you ready for studio auditions for teaching to group or private populations.

This depends on the studio contract, offerings and intimacy of the location. You will need to inquire within regarding the studio program you are interested in.

Yes, you must have Insurance. to protect yourself and the studios you are practicing at. In addition all clients you work with need to sign waivers which we provide in the online system. We will require copies of your policy and waivers in the system to ensure you are following the guidelines.

Yes, and it is all meant to help you prepare for your final exam. It is not required to test out however if you do not complete itt you will be at a disadvantage for testing out.

No, all materials will be in your books and in your reference material in the online portal.
We have chosen to go green and eliminate waste. If you prefer papers, we understand and you have the ability to print anything out that you wish from the online portal.

Your certificate will state the “studio”, via “Precision Pilates” .

We do not monitor other programs in the community to compare ours .
Our training is geared towards the studio we are working with and the populations they teach.
With our program you learn the original method of Joseph Pilates, via the Balanced Body manuals, Pilates Anatomy and NCPT guidelines of Being a teacher, Ethics & Scope of Practice.
You also receive hands-on mentoring and 1:1 support with your mentors. Prior to testing out or getting hired we offer with 15 assistant teaching hours or more if you request them to truly learn to teach for the current populations getting you ready for your career. We genuinely care to see you succeed and flourish in your training and future career. We will be with you in support every step of the way! Our goal is to give you all the tools you need under the original practice and the contemporary standards the clients expect today!

This program is meant for any Pilates skill level however it is recommended that you have a year's experience taking Reformer Pilates classes.

You can cancel yes, but once the first payment and any payment after that received your spot is guaranteed and payment is non-refundable. We are contracted with the studio, putting planning work in ahead of time and items are being secured on your behalf. Sorry no refunds.

No, your hourse accure for taking classes after the first module. Once you start learning you will hear things much differently.

Yes, all hours mush be recorded and completed prior to testing out. This is as per the NCPT guidelines that we adhere to.

It is not a problem, but you will need to make it up and it may be at another studio location. If it is the anatomy, we can provide a virtual course but any of the reformer modules will need to be made up in person at the available dates and locations before testing out.

Yes, every 2 years you must submit 16 CEC’s just like the NCPT requirements to get your updated certificate. This is to withhold the standards of Pilates excellence we thrive to have behind our name.
We offer CEC’s but you can also find many other ways to get CEC’s via the NCPT website, many courses are virtual making it easy to work into your schedule.

That is Soley at your and the studios degression, however we highly recommend obtaining your credentials to ensure you are upholding the NCPT standards and legacy of Joesph Pilates.

Yes, we require the owner to be present during certain parts of the training, however they are not always there.
